Our Success Stories

BRISBANE CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE (BCEC)

OVERVIEW

Named ‘Best Convention Centre in the World’ by AIPC, 2016-2018, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) has been a key feature of the Brisbane, and broader Australian and APAC, events landscape for over 30 years.

ASM Global has been an integral part of that story from the very beginning; ASM Global was invited to provide expert operator input during the earliest development discussions.

ASM Global recognised the potential of South-East Queensland and Brisbane, Australia’s third largest and fastest growing major city, to become a future key APAC business and events destination.

Leveraging this knowledge, the team delivered an exceptionally innovative complex that has stood the test of time and is extremely well positioned as a key venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Para-Olympic Games.

THE CONSULTANCY

ASM Global’s initial consultancy uncovered multiple business, tourism and cultural opportunities, recommending key design features and operational elements that successfully positioned BCEC as a leading, world-class, MICE venue.

Our inputs included enhanced FF&E, ICT, AV, functional design and operational efficiency recommendations to deliver an operationally, functionally, reputationally and commercially successful complex.

Significantly, when expansion plans were mooted in 2007, ASM Global was again approached to provide expert operator input throughout the D&C period, while also continuing to deliver year-on-year profitability via our management services contract.
