ASM GLOBAL’S OSCEOLA HERITAGE PARK CELEBRATES 20 YEARS HOSTING MECUM KISSIMMEE, ‘THE WORLD'S LARGEST COLLECTOR CAR AUCTION’
(KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Jan. 28, 2025) – Osceola Heritage Park, the most unique entertainment and sports complex in the Southeast U.S., proudly marked a milestone anniversary celebrating 20 years as the home of Mecum Kissimmee, "The World's Largest Collector Car Auction." This iconic event has grown exponentially since its inaugural appearance at the venue in 2006, becoming a centerpiece of the automotive auction world and drawing visitors from across the globe.
The first Mecum auction at Osceola Heritage Park in January 2006 was a two-day affair featuring just a couple of tents, one of which housed the auction itself, and attracted a few thousand visitors. Fast forward to January 2025, Mecum Kissimmee has evolved into a 13-day extravaganza that welcomes approximately 100,000 attendees, features more than 4,500 vehicles, and broadcasts to a global audience from the 10,000-capacity Silver Spurs Arena.
To accommodate the auction’s consistent growth, Osceola Heritage Park transforms its 200-acre grounds into a sprawling automotive showcase, erecting over 900,000 square feet of tents that house thousands of vehicles consigned for auction — a space equivalent to 16 football fields.
Complementing this massive build, 120,000 square feet of carpeting is laid to provide a polished stage for the consigned vehicles, which are transported to the venue by a fleet of 800 semi-trucks. The park’s 60,000-square-foot events center is also utilized for an immersive display of exclusive car collections and road art.
At the heart of the facility is the Glass House, a 250-by-100-foot glass-sided structure that showcases millions of dollars’ worth of the event’s “main attraction.” The Glass House allows fans to view some of the rarest and most sought-after cars in the world, including the iconic 1969 Porche 917K driven by Steve McQueen in the 1971 racing film Le Mans, which reached a bid of $25 million but current owner Jerry Seinfeld declined the offer.
Osceola Heritage Park also raises the bar with 30 diverse food and beverage experiences, including two expansive food courts with a custom-curated blend of in-house concessions and third-party food trucks.
Additionally, Osceola Heritage Park’s Heritage Club offers an elevated, in-seat dining experience in an upscale setting where Mecum’s gold bidders enjoy full-service food and beverage offerings while staying fully immersed in the action of the auction block from their seats on the arena floor.
Over the two-week event, guests enjoyed a selection of beverages, with the venue selling more than 50,000 cups of beer, 10,000 crafted cocktails and thousands of glasses of wine.
“This partnership with Mecum Auctions exemplifies the unique capabilities of Osceola Heritage Park to host world-class events,” said Robb Larson, general manager of OHP / ASM Global. “Over the past 20 years, we've worked hand-in-hand with Mecum to transform this event into an unparalleled destination for car enthusiasts, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone anniversary with them.
Mecum Kissimmee continues to break records year after year, solidifying its reputation as a can’t-miss event for collectors and fans of automotive history. Osceola Heritage Park remains a key partner, providing the infrastructure, innovation and hospitality needed to support the auction’s success and growth each year.
