ASM GLOBAL’S JAMES L. KNIGHT CENTER CELEBRATES HIGHEST-GROSSING REVENUE YEAR IN ITS 40-YEAR HISTORY
(MIAMI, Fla. – Aug. 3, 2023) – ASM Global’s James L. Knight Center celebrated its highest-grossing revenue year since the popular South Florida venue first opened its doors more than four decades ago.
Managed by ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management company and producer of live-event experiences, James L. Knight Center featured a full calendar of live entertainment with more than 35 events in 2022. The venue welcomed more than 140,000 guests resulting in a 16% increase in ticket sales, versus 2019, the last fully operating year since the pandemic forced venue shutdowns worldwide.
James L. Knight Center also kicked off the first half of 2023 breaking its record for the most sold-out shows in property history with two sold-out performances by Morat, ranked No. 65 on the Top 100 North American Tours chart, as well as maximum capacity performances by internationally acclaimed artists, including Lil Nas X, Pablo Alborán, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Isabel Pantoja.
“When ASM Global started managing James L. Knight Center in 2012, we put together an aggressive strategy to expand event offerings, get more guests through the doors, and increase revenue,” said Doug Thornton, executive vice president of stadiums, arenas and theaters, ASM Global. “The team at the venue, together with ASM Global, has worked tirelessly to reach those goals; and we are excited to continue the momentum and make James L. Knight Center the top entertainment destination in the region.”
“By consistently supporting our promoters’ marketing efforts, implementing special presale offers, running and testing email marketing and social media campaigns, and more, we were able to reach more fans and increase ticket sales,” said Cristina Bruan, director of sales and marketing. “We leveraged Ticketmaster’s distribution partnerships and other resources, exposing the venue to new audiences and fans while also working closely with key local promoters like Loud and Live who brought in exciting shows such as the Greeicy and Mike Bahia.”
The full schedule for 2023 includes a total of 46 iconic shows, from Grammy Award nominated Brent Faiyaz, who sold out two shows in just two hours, and South Korean girl group aespa to Latin Grammy “Lifetime Achievement Award” recipient Emmanuel, Danna Paola, Carlos Rivera and more.
