(January 9, 2024) - ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management company and producer of live-event experiences, has announced that its Stockton-managed venues, Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena), Bob Hope Theatre, Oak Park Ice Rink, Stockton Downtown Marina and Stockton Ballpark, experienced a record-breaking 2023.
ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management company and producer of live-event experiences, has announced that its Stockton-managed venues, Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena), Bob Hope Theatre, Oak Park Ice Rink, Stockton Downtown Marina and Stockton Ballpark, experienced a record-breaking 2023.
ASM Global welcomed more than 400,000 guests at more than 260 unique events combined this year at its Stockton venues. Ticket sales and gross revenues soared past previous years, resulting in the best financial year in the portfolio’s history.
The recently rebranded Adventist Health Arena featured a full calendar of exciting events, including a performance by the Billboard Chart-topping singer/songwriter Peso Pluma, the highest-grossing event on record at the venue. Additional top-grossing events included Jiu Jitsu, with over 60,000 attendees in four events; and JAMZ, over 30,000 attendees in three events; as well as Disney On Ice, StocktonCon, Journey with Toto, Cody Johnson, Stockton Music Jam, Spirit West Coast, Catch You On The Rebound, Ice Cube, PBR, Gabriel Iglesias, Top Rank Boxing, and many more.
The historic Bob Hope Theatre also continued to attract top performers resulting in capacity crowds, selling out Steve-O, Jerry Seinfeld, George Lopez, Eslabon Armado, Bronco and Brincos Dieras.
Additionally, while Stockton Ballpark is best known as the home field for Single-A Stockton Ports minor league affiliate to the Oakland A’s, the stadium maximized its size and space for the 2023 holiday season by hosting the first-ever Stockton Lantern Festival. The one-of-a-kind event took over the ballpark with an immersive, larger-than-life magical lantern forest, welcoming more than 45,000 guests in 48 nights.
“Providing quality entertainment, placemaking opportunities and family friendly activities for its residents has been a consistent goal for the City,” said City Manager Harry Black. “The partnership with ASM Global is helping the City realize its goal and we look forward to our continued success.”
Further enhancing the guest experience, ASM Global Stockton is overseeing an extensive $3.2 million overhaul of the properties. Adventist Health Arena will score a new LED 360 video board, LED ribbon board, TV production studio, LED arena lighting and enhancements in the locker rooms, conferences rooms and club area, while the Bob Hope Theatre will receive new theatrical LED lighting, and façade, sound, and back-of-house upgrades.
“The team has worked so hard to improve the experience at our venues, from diversifying the types of events we offer and attracting high-caliber acts, to implementing features that simplify the event process, like the Fast Pass, Open Gate systems and streamlined concessions, to a full rebranding and facility renovations,” said Jason Perry, ASM Global’s general manager for the properties. “Together with our new naming rights partner Adventist Health and the City of Stockton, we will bring ingenuity and creativity to all of our events and be able to provide an unparalleled experience to fans, artists, performers, athletes and our community simultaneously.”
The ASM Global Stockton team is looking forward to more success in 2024, with exciting events planned like Disney On Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, Bert Kreischer, StocktonCon, Always and Forever Tour, Brincos Dieras, Stockton Kings, Los Tigres Del Norte, Killer Queen, MercyMe, Stockton Ports, Daniel Sloss, Sesame Street Live and much more.
