The Connexin Live
Over 400,000 visitors have experienced events here at the venue since 2018 including Bob Dylan, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Ne-Yo, Paloma Faith, JLS, Sarah Millican, Blondie, Noel Gallagher and many more.
The venue is a state-of-the-art music and events complex with a capacity of up to 4,000 people for concerts and live events, plus an array of bars, lounges, premium seating and hospitality suits including the Connexin Lounge.

About the role:
The Event Technician will be integral to the successful technical execution of events at Connexion Live. The role involves hands-on work with audio, visual, lighting, and staging equipment, ensuring that all technical aspects of events run smoothly. The Event Technician will also play a key role in venue turnarounds and provide immediate technical support and maintenance during events.
Key responsibilities
- Provide outstanding technical support for events across our auditorium and breakout spaces, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
- Lead event setups, including load-ins/outs, temporary power installations, and the operation of advanced sound and lighting systems.
- Serve as the main point of contact for promoters, tour managers, and event organisers, ensuring each event is thoroughly planned and executed.
- Play a key role in staff training and development, assisting the Senior Technician in enhancing our team’s skills and knowledge.
- Uphold safety standards by maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and implementing effective work systems in line with Health and Safety legislation.
- Foster a proactive health and safety culture, ensuring proper use of PPE and adherence to ASM Global’s policies.
We are looking for someone with
- Proven track record in event environments, especially in versatile venues hosting a wide range of exciting programmes.
- A passion for excellence in service delivery, with a natural flair for leading and inspiring others.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently troubleshoot, perform fault-finding, and execute timely repairs.
- In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety protocols in production and stage settings, with a keen understanding of the essentials for live events.
- Expertise in electrical safety, specifically within the fast-paced live events industry.
- Hands-on experience in proactive and reactive maintenance of cutting-edge technical equipment.
Desirable:
- Experience with AutoCAD, bringing technical drawings to life in real-world scenarios.
- Familiarity with DANTE audio networks, elevating the audio experience to the next level.
- Expertise in event lighting systems, including DMX, Art-Net, and sACN, to create unforgettable visual experiences.
- Recent training in counterbalance Forklift Truck operation, ready to take on any logistical challenge.
- A solid understanding of BS7909 electrical systems with a drive to further hone your skills and expertise.
