Utilita Arena Newcastle is one of the most prestigious and important venues in the North East of England as the largest indoor entertainment and exhibition venue, on the iconic Newcastle River Tyne, with an 11000-capacity auditorium, 600 surface car park in the city centre of Newcastle, entertaining 500,000 visitors per year.

Working at Utilita Arena is an exciting and fun opportunity for all, with the added bonus of flexible shifts to fit around the other important things in life. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our retail merchandise team working on a casual event driven basis, providing customer retail service to support the tour merchandise sales for some of the world’s most renowned artists. The role involves ensuring high standard of service are maintained and providing a welcoming environment for all clients and visitors to the Arena.

Customer service is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for team players that can make a positive contribution to the overall customer experience. We welcome applicants who take pride in their work, have a positive friendly attitude and possess excellent communication skills.

Skills & Competencies required:

•Strong numerical skills and mental arithmetic

•Accuracy and ability to be calm under pressure

•Well presented

•Customer service experience and retail experience

•Demonstrate a willingness to learn and pick up new skills in a fast-paced environment

•Follow health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.

•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

•Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

Successful applicants will be invited to join our casual database, giving them the opportunity to sign up for event-based shifts. This is a casual, event-based vacancy and will include evening and weekend work. Full in-house training will be provided for all successful candidates.

Rate of Pay: Competitive hourly rates of pay, plus holiday pay accrual (paid fortnightly)
