The Venue
The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester’s international concert venue, built to give the best possible space for music. The Hall opened back in 1996 by Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and now is a renowned venue across the UK and hosts over 300 performances a year including classical music, rock, pop, jazz, world music and much more.

Role Purpose
The Bridgewater Hall is recruiting a professional and courteous Artist’s receptionist who will be the initial point of contact for internal and external clients who are entering the building. The role involves managing incoming telephone calls and performing basic administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of our office.
Role Responsibilities
- Greeting visitors and artists and directing them to the correct area.
- Operating the switchboard transferring calls to the relevant extensions and taking messages.
- Responsible for signing keys in and out and issuing and checking security passes.
- Signing for deliveries and notifying the relevant member of staff.
- Preparing daily signing in sheets and transferring them to the meeting point if the building is evacuated.
- Controlling and monitoring the building’s car parks.
- Responding to the fire panel in case of emergencies.
- Reporting faults to the facilities and/or technical departments.
- To undertake any other duties which may be deemed necessary by the House Management team.
You Will Have
- Previous Administration/Reception experience
- Experience of working in an arts environment
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
- Experience of providing high quality customer service to internal and external clients
- A working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
- First aid training
A degree of flexibility is necessary as some evening and weekend work may be required.
Shift rotation from early morning, daytime and late shifts.
